I'm Lydia Martinez, a multidisciplinary creative, visual artist, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. With a background in fine art and a passion for environmental storytelling, I bring an artistic eye and a thoughtful approach to food and sustainability content, combining recipe development, food styling, photography, film, and post-production to tell stories that connect brands with their audiences.

My experience spans documentary filmmaking, brand content, narrative film, and photography, including creating and managing social media content for an organic refill grocery store, leading video editing for documentaries exploring racial justice and equality, editing brand content in the filmmaking industry, and color grading a narrative feature filmed in the Grand Canyon. Working across these disciplines has shaped how I approach every project: with an attention to composition, movement, narrative, and the details that make a story feel authentic and resonant.

My connection to food began growing up in a small town in the Hudson Valley, New York, where farm-to-table food culture was part of everyday life. That early appreciation grew into a deeper interest in the relationship between food, agriculture, and the environment. To deepen my education of the climate challenges shaping our food system, I completed Climatebase’s 12-week Fellowship, which continues to inform how I approach sustainability storytelling and communicate complex issues and solutions in an accessible, meaningful way. I'm especially drawn to work that makes more thoughtful food choices feel accessible and inspiring, from seasonal recipes and plant-forward cooking to regenerative agriculture and more sustainable food systems.

I hold a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I developed the visual foundation that continues to inform my work. Now, I bring that foundation to every stage of the creative process, creating considered, story-driven content for brands working toward a better food system.
